AMATEUR FILM
THE TRUTH ABOUT DINA
This 10-minute short won Best Film, Best Acting and Best Special Effects at the 2nd Annual Lionheart Film Festival, as voted by the patrons of the Lionheart Blues Cafe. A lot of the humor may be lost on those who are not from the Capital Region of NY or Vermont, as it is spoof of the Nina Jewlers radio ads that have run up here on radio for years. It was based on the original radio spoof I did on Talk Show 91. It stars myself and Marge Travison. It was conceived and edited by myself. Writing credits include myself, Dan Healy & Arielle Trimm.

TWISTED PAIR - We provide live projected multimedia peformance at techno parties to compliment the music. We are the #1 'VJs' in Albany, NY..
MILLENIUM COUNTDOWN
This was our flagship performance at the party 'Eternity 5' at the Center-City Arena in Schenectady, NY. The night was December 31st, 1999 and the suspense of 'Y2K' was looming over us. We were, in a sense, the 'timekeepers' for the 3,000 people in attendance, as we brought them into the millenium with this awe-inspiring countdown sequence. It is important to note that this is NOT merely a pre-edited segment; this was sequenced LIVE using three computers and a video mixer, projected onto a 12-foot screen and fed through the stadium's sound system.

MY PART OF THE THING - This was a Music Video Show I did from 1992-1997 on public access television. It ran on Continental Cablevision in Westchester County, NY and on Manhattan Neighborhood Network in NYC. It starred my friends Jim Angiello and Paul Bliss and showcased new music videos along with celebrity interviews and comedic segments. I did all the production, editing and animation on the show.

ANIMATION REEL
This is a collection of all the intro and segue animations that I created for the show. They were all created on Amiga computers. Although perhaps not so impressive anymore, it was really pretty good for the mid-90's.. and they were all done by hand without the specialized software that exists today.

50TH EPISODE
For our 50th Episode we decided to do a live show with call-ins. We played some of our favorite music videos throughout the years, gave away prizes and foisted 'interactive video games' on our callers. It was a lot of fun!

"WIN A DATE" PROMOS
For their next live show, Jim and Paul offered themselves up for a date. These two 30-second promos advertised the event a few weeks prior to the show. The first is a spoof of the 'One-Day Sale" ads that A&S ran during the 80's. Those of you who did not live in downstate New York at the time may be unfamiliar with their trademark of an announcer overdubbed such that it  sounds like they are bantering with themselves while models sacheted in front of a white backdrop. The second promo is a similar voiceover with some animation I created especially for this show.

Win A Date with My Part of the Thing - Pre-Game Show
Win A Date with My Part of the Thing - Live Call-in Special
'The Date'
My Part of the Thing presents 'Underground Theatre': Danny Plotnick's STEEL BELTED ROMEOS
PRE-GAME SHOW
This was a show done to hype up the upcoming "Win A Date" live show. It was actually a spoof of a call-in Sports Show that was popular in Westchester, NY at the time, "Sports Talk Live", hosted by Jim Campion. My good friend Al Quagliata did a dead-on impersonation of Jim that delighted both 'My Part of the Thing' and 'Sports Talk' viewers. I made a rare on-camera appearance as a sports coach who was teaching Jim and Paul how to be suave with the ladies.

"WIN A DATE"
The live show commenced on a Saturday at 8 PM. Apparently there were plenty of women with not much to do that night, at least in Westchester, NY.. because the calls rang off the hook. Guest M.C. Dave Casale screened the girls with tough questions to narrow it down to one lucky lady.

UNDERGROUND THEATRE
On this episode, My Part of the Thing presented 'Underground Theatre' to showcase the work of San Francisco director Danny Plotnick. - his short film 'Steel Belted Romeos'. The show is 'hosted by 'Sir Randolph Windbag', as played by Al Quagliata. PLEASE NOTE: The second segment is the complete short film by Danny Plotnick and is provided here for conext only. It is inherently not  one of my works n any way.

Cooking Sicilian with Uncle Ragu
Some of our favorite IDs..
COOKING SICILIAN
This segment appeared on the same episode as Underground Theatre, featuring 'Steel Belted Romeos'. In that film, the characters make reference to 'Uncle Ragu' and his famous Pasta Figioli. Al Quagliata makes Uncle Ragu come alive as he shows viewers how to cook his trademark pasta dish.. well, almost.

AUDIO

WCDB - I was the Production Director at SUNY Albany's college station, 90.9 FM. Here are some of the promos, bumpers and other works of production I did. Some of these are also exemplary of my voiceover abilities..
THE 'WELL' PROMO
WCDB's transmitter has often been plagued with problems. As a result, it can sometimes be difficult to receive the station in spots that are very close to campus. One time when experiencing this problem, I exclaimed to myself, 'Is our transmitter located in a 50-foot well??' With this, I decided to spoof the traditional commercial radio IDs which proudly boast of transmitters atop huge skyscrapers and such..

THE PROMISE RING
When indie-rock act "The Promise Ring" came to Albany, WCDB spread thw rod with this promo. It's done in true indie-rock production style, with a soft voice mixed just barely over the music.

TALK SHOW 91 - This was the talk show I hosted and produced for three years at WCDB. It was a comedic call-in show..
FONGABOO PROMO

AMERICAN BEEF COUNCIL
Talk Show 91 had 'faux sponsors' - imaginary companies or organizations that alledgedy 'sponsored' our show. I dreamed this one up after having eaten a thick juicy steak and felt a bit sluggish. It's a parody of those 'industry council' service announcments, such as 'Pork, The Other White Meat' or 'got milk?'
THE ILLINOIS NAZI PARTY
Talk Show 91 had 'faux sponsors' - imaginary companies or organizations that alledgedy 'sponsored' our show. This one is a nod to the Blues Brothers movie and is perhaps the most unlikely 'sponsorship' since the KKK adopted a highway..
ROTHSTEIN COLOSTOMY BAGS
Talk Show 91 had 'faux sponsors' - imaginary companies or organizations that alledgedy 'sponsored' our show. This one peddled items that previously had a very niche market with much fanfare using an interesting slogan..
PEPPERRIDGE FARM
Talk Show 91 had 'faux sponsors' - imaginary companies or organizations that alledgedy 'sponsored' our show. In the 80's, Pepperridge Farm cookies ran ads with a naive eldery man wearing dixie hat and suspenders. He'd reminisce about the old days while savoring the cookies. In this spot, we have him further expounding upon 'the old days'..
NORTH AMERICAN WHEAT GLUTEN ADVISORY BOARD
Talk Show 91 had 'faux sponsors' - imaginary companies or organizations that alledgedy 'sponsored' our show. One of our co-hosts was a 'celiac sprue' which meant that he could not digest wheat gluten, which is in most prepared foods. We had him describe his condition and then ran this 'ad'..
DINA JEWELERS
Talk Show 91 had 'faux sponsors' - imaginary companies or organizations that alledgedy 'sponsored' our show. Those of you from Vermont or the Capital District of NY will recognize this as an obvious poke at the Nina Jewler ads that have run on radio for years in those areas. The rest of you may not quite get the joke..

WEB DESIGN

WCDB WEBSITE
As part of my duties as Media Director at WCDB, I designed their website. Their current site, created by a new student, is located at http://wcdb.albany.edu, but an archive of my design can be found here.
MY HOME PAGE
My personal website is exemplary of my ability to create a layout that is aesthetic and an interface that is intuitive..

STILL DESIGN

PREVUE GUIDE - Before there were banner ads everywhere on the web, I designed ads for a similar venue - the top third of the screen on the Prevue Guide Channel. They were limited to just 16 colors, so keep in mind that the color definition can be quite contrained. They are still a good example of my abilities in layout and design.
CONTINENTAL WEBSITE
Continental Cablevision was an early adopter of the world-wide web, and as such I created this ad promoting their site in 1996. I changed the copy when they became MediaOne in 1997.
TYSON VS. HOLYFIELD II
This was a two-cel ad promoting an upcoming boxing match..
PAY-PER-VIEW CLUB
This was an ad for a promotional offer from Continental/MediaOne.
GOLF CHANNEL
An ad for the Golf Channel, which Continental/MediaOne had added to its lineup that year.
DAVID BOWIE BIRTHDAY BASH
An ad for a special pay-per-view event
CUSTOMER SERVICE
I designed this ad for Continental and then updated it with the 'radial logo' when they changed their name to MediaOne.
AFRICAN-AMERICAN READ-IN
This ad promoted a community special produced by Continental's Local Origination Dept.
GRIFFIN VS. JONES II
This ad was for another boxing match.
MARLEY MAGIC
Another ad for a music event on Pay-Per-View
ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP
Ad for an Ultimate Fighting event on Pay-Per-View
SERVICE GUARANTEE
I designed this ad for Continental and then updated it with the 'radial logo' when they changed their name to MediaOne.
TOUGHMAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Another ad for an 'extreme' fighting event
SHOWTIME OFFER
An ad for a promotional offer from Continental/MediaOne.

PRINTED FLYERS
AUDIO UNDERGROUND PROJECT
When Albany's most well-known techno record store succumbed to fire, this benefit party was thrown and I was asked to design the flyer. It is a collage of hundreds of photos from the Albany rave-scene with a photo of Damian, the store's owner, in the center.
